the new Area Commanders of The Salvation Army – Nashville, Lt. Colonels Charles and Shirley White!
Lt. Col. Charles and Shirley White are excited to be returning home after serving the Nashville Area Command almost 23 years ago. Originally from Owensboro, Ky, the couple has served
The Salvation Army for 45 years and have chosen to retire in Nashville. The Whites have served appointments throughout the Southern Territory and are most remembered in the
Nashville community as Founders of the Angel Tree program.
Our new Officers are looking forward to renewing old friendships and making new ones as they take on the responsibilities of leading The Salvation Army’s multifaceted services and programs in Greater Nashville. Lt. Col. White explained, “Shirley and I have gained a lot of experience and have been blessed to see the Army’s ministries around the world. It will be a blessing for us to get back into the community and work “on the front lines” again. We thank God for the dedicated service of Majors Robert and Janine Vincent and will continue to build upon the solid foundation they laid.” We realize there are many challenges and opportunities ahead, and we are trusting God to provide all that is needed to meet them .”
