This event was first recognized back in 1954 by then President Dwight D Eisenhower to honor the charitable work done by The Salvation Army.
In his proclamation Eisenhower noted: “Among Americans, The Salvation Army has long been a symbol of brotherhood…Their work has been a constant reminder to us all that each of us is neighbor and kin to all Americans. Giving freely of themselves, the men and women of The Salvation Army have won the respect of us all.”
Now in its 57th year, National Salvation Army Week is an occasion meant to raise awareness and recognition for The Salvation Army’s humanitarian relief, community service programs and to educate the public about the organization.
Join us if you can this week for some amazing events and life changing experiences!

Sunday, May 15th – Salvation Army Sunday! That’s right, we may all have different names, different denominations and demographics but we are all in it for the same cause and mission, “Others.” We encourage churches across the mid state to share with your members on what The Salvation Army is doing here in Nashville. We can provide you with videos, posters, and brochures and even provide guest speakers. We want to partner and work together with area churches to meet the needs throughout the area, because there is power in numbers.
….and we are offering a FREE download of the song “Others” a reflection on the work of The Salvation Army from it’s humble beginnings to where we are now and the reason why we do what we do!
Hebrews 10:35-36, “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.”
