This evening, July 2nd under the Jefferson Street Bridge in Nashville, The Salvation Army will fire up a grill and barbecue hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken to celebrate Independence Day with our homeless friends. Several hundred homeless and hungry customers will enjoy a festive picnic that will include all the fixings and some cold Iced Tea! If you’d like to join us tonight, drop by around 6pm for great food and most importantly the opportunity to hang out with some incredible folks, hear how their weeks been and encourage them as they share obstacles or hurts in their life…it’s all about “Others!”
The Salvation Army’s weekly Soup Wagon service, from under the Jefferson Street Bridge, is from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. The Salvation Army Soup Wagon was founded six years ago by two veterans, Toby Smith and Mike Servais to feed homeless veterans. Today the Soup Wagon feeds between 250-400 people weekly and has a wide-span of customers.
