It was another successful summer camp at the Magness Potter Community Center located on Stockell Street in the heart of East Nashville. Many, many children from the neighborhood spent their summer days gliding down waterslides, designing some beautiful and creative art, educated on various musical genres, played some intense sports, which incorporated team building and bible studies, where they learned that Jesus loves them no matter what!
Because of donors like you, our kids were also able to attend a week at The Salvation Army’s Camp Paradise located in Burkesville, KY! Located on Dale Hollow Lake, the views are breathtaking and the experience is one the children never forget! There’s swimming, hiking, various sports, arts/crafts, bible studies, lots of food and perhaps a ghost story or two as kids gather around a campfire or with their counselors in their respective cabins.
We celebrate with all of our summer campers as so many of them expressed such enthusiam regarding everything they did and how grateful they are for The Salvation Army, which they refer to as a “safe” place; a place of love!
Big thanks to all of our donors, volunteers and staff who made it all possible. We realize we can’t do what we do without our community’s help and Middle Tennessee always comes through no matter what…bless you!
