When you give to The Salvation Army – Nashville, know that your money goes directly to individuals in need throughout Middle Tennessee. This includes Davidson County and the surrounding counties of Sumner, Williamson, Dickson, Cheatham and Hickman. For every dollar you donate, 82 cents goes to fill the need of those seeking our assistance throughout the year by way of food boxes, utility and rental/mortgage assistance, Life Skills Learning classes which include GED classes, budgeting classes, resume assistance, Transitional Housing for families, single women and single men, Child Care facility, Feeding programs (Breakfast Brigade and Soup Wagon where 300 homeless individuals are fed per week), Christmas assistance and the operation of our after school and summer camps for youth.
We also provide disaster assistance to those affected by nature’s fury. When you donate to disaster, 100% of what you donate goes to the disaster effort, not a penny from your donation is spent on overhead.
